Tolerance and inclusion in public policy
To promote tolerance and inclusion in the public sphere, PROVIDUS implements a major three-year project monitoring the public speech of politicians, legislative initiatives and media publications. The monitoring identifies intolerant rhetoric questioning the participation of minorities and NGOs in the public sphere. The purpose of the project is to promote the democratic participation of minorities and NGOs. PROVIDUS also implements activities aimed at diversity mainstreaming in state schools and in the public sphere.

Bilingual and multicultural education
Since 2004 PROVIDUS has been following the changes in Latvian education system connected with the introduction of a different proportion of subjects taught in Latvian in ethnic Russian schools and focused on the issue of cultural diversity in education. Particular attention in 2004 was devoted to the minority school reform but in 2005 and 2006 to the situation of minority children in Latvian schools. In 2005 PROVIDUS published a study on recognition of cultural diversity in schools and evaluation of the policy instruments connected with that.
